Monday 19 October 2023. WCIA was invited to be part of the Prince’s Trust celebration in the Pierhead building in Cardiff Bay. The event was a celebration of the charity’s work in Wales in recent years. Projecting messages of hope and positivity for young people in Wales, the speakers which included; CEO Jonathan Townsend as well as Sarah Jones, Director of Delivery for Wales, highlighted the numerous challenges facing young people across the UK and especially in Wales, in light of the cost of living crisis and pandemic. Although the confidence and happiness of young people across Wales has flatlined in recent years, Sarah Jones highlighted the fact that 66% of young people believe that with support they can change their outcomes.
It is that offering of support through various pathways, including small grants, business and entrepreneurial support as well as support into employment, that has seen the Prince’s Trust support 66,900 young people aged between 18-30 in the UK in the previous 12 months.
