From New Year 2024, a series of workshops and events Wales-wide will offer the opportunity for individuals and communities to get involved with exploring, transcribing and uncovering local stories behind the Women’s Peace Petition of 1923-24.
This follows ‘rematriation’ in May 2023 of the original 1920s petition and its chest from Washington, many months of conservation work at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth, and the programming of a bespoke ‘transcription tool’ interface that will enable crowdsourcing of volunteers to help transcribe the 390,296 signatures.
