The WCIA promotes peace and human rights from Wales though innovative projects, events and involvement in campaigns. We want to inspire action to protect human rights and build peace using Wales' rich history to inspire future generations.

Wales for Peace

In the 100 years since the First World War, how has Wales contributed to peace? How can Wales continue to work towards a peaceful world? Help us to answer these questions through our Heritage Lottery Funded Wales for Peace project.

Volunteers for Human Rights

Young volunteers (WCIA) and people seeking sanctuary (Oasis Cardiff) are working together to run a human-rights themed events programme at the WCIA.  The project is funded by the players of the People's Postcode Lottery.

Past projects

  • wise dreamer.jpgWise and Foolish Dreamers was a major WCIA project from 2007-2011, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which looked at Welsh Participation in the Spanish Civil War. More
  • Citizen Rights Project: At the end of 2016, we deliverd Wales' part of the European-wide pilot project, Citizen Rights, to find new ways to work together for citizenship and rights. More
