Community fundraising for international projects


In the current economic climate, where many are seeing cuts to their statutory funding, groups are increasingly looking to fundraising to raise the vital funds needed for their projects. This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to develop successful fundraising in your organisation, and examples of great fundraising ideas from effective community links.

This course is suitable for anyone keen to find out more about the potential for raising money from fundraising for their organisations, whether they be trustees, staff or volunteers.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

• Understand what fundraising is and why it can provide a valuable income stream
• Be aware of what motivates people to give to international projects
• Appreciate the different sources of fundraised income and how to raise funds from them (individuals, community, companies, and trusts and foundations)
• Take advantage of the different methods of fundraising
• Develop a fundraising strategy for their organisation and make a persuasive case for support
• Ensure they comply with relevant legislation and best practice
• Know where to go for further information, help and advice
