CEWC Social Media Planner(s)

Purpose: To design a social media calendar for CEWC (Council for Education in World Citizenship) over the next year, plus a detailed schedule of posts for March to July 2015.

Time Commitment: Approx 4-6 weeks turnaround, starting with 1 afternoon’s project briefing, and 2 progress / support meetings at volunteer’s time / location convenience. The work (approx. 3-4 days) can be done from home / remotely; and may be done by a team of volunteers working together. Opportunity to extend into a longer-term volunteering with less time commitment after initial few weeks.

What you will do: You will be given a briefing of key themes, and - through researching a diverse range of Wales and world issues - will translate these into a detailed communications plan and sequencing schedule (eg using Hootsuite / Tweetdeck etc). These will enable CEWC over the months and years ahead to line up topical, inspiring and informative tweets / posts on international issues that are suitable and accessible for young people to engage with.

Would suit: A journalism / communications / ICT student (or individual who enjoys social media), who would like to gain practical experience of building and delivering an organisational communications plan.

Research and Young People Engagement

Purpose: To collate online educational and awareness-raising resources, content, campaign and articles relating to the themes of Climate Change.

What you will do: Through online research you will gather together a listing of online resources, articles and actions relevant to Climate Change project themes, which are specifically suitable for schools and young people. Through the theme of Climate Change you will find content and campaigns that will engage young people and provide them with opportunities to act and engage polticially especially at key times such as the General Election and UN COP talks. You will also liaise with schools to encourage young people to write short pieces for the blog, create vlogs and social media as well as engage in political actions around Climate Change. This will be used to support our social media, communications and further engagement with young people around international issues.

Would suit: An education / international relations / politics / ICT student (or individual who enjoys communications), who would like to gain practical experience of building an information portal.
